Syria Relief - Madaya Appeal

The inhabitants of Madaya, a mountainous town of over 30,000 residents, have been slowly starving to death since July, when it was completely besieged with no entry routes for aid to enter or for civilians to escape. Even before the siege food prices were high and getting enough to eat was hard.                                                                                                                                      Now it is almost impossible: a single kilo of rice costs upwards of £170 on the black-market. Fortunately Syria Relief has been able to gain access to a network on the ground who will be able to distribute food to those most in need.
