Macron calls on French to unite 'against the menace of nationalists'

Centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron called on French voters to unite "against the menace of nationalists." Macron and far-right leader Marine Le Pen will face off in the second round of the French presidential elections on 7 May. "The challenge from this evening, is not to be against someone, it is to break completely with the system that has been incapable of dealing with citizens' problems for more than 30 years," Macron said addressing his supporters, who kept on interrupting his speech with "We will win" chants.

"There are not multiple Frances, there is just one: France, our France, the France of patriots in a Europe that protects us. We will win."    (dpa)
