Merkel and Putin reaffirm support for Iran deal in phone call


German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reaffirmed their support for the Iran nuclear agreement despite the U.S. exit, the Kremlin said on Friday.

The 2015 deal between Iran and the international community is of "fundamental importance" to security and stability in the region, the two leaders agreed in a phone call, according to a Kremlin statement cited by the TASS news agency.    (dpa)
